My hair revival story
I am by far the biggest instigator of treatments at home, especially if its got anything to do with resuscitating my lifeless mane called hair! The reason I am blogging about this particular treatment is a) its super effective and b) its homemade and cost effective. As simple as that.
The story goes something like this. I am a swimmer, not of the Olympics kind of course. Its more like a floater with a decent pace.
Although I use a swim cap and its one of the expensive ones too ( not going to name and shame), water still gets through and washing your hair everyday is not helping me get on the road to beautiful hairsville. So I had to device a SOS plan and pretty quick.
It was one of those days when you rummage around your beauty cabinet for every serum, oil and conditioner you have and realize each and every one of them has some sort of a chemical in it and wont do the job as effectively as natural ingredients. But then right in a lonely corner were these little gems called Rosemary, Peppermint and Ginger essential oils. BOOM! Sorted!
So this is what I did. Ingredients needed for some hair lovin:
Coconut Oil (eye measure, equal parts)
Olive Oil (eye measure, equal parts)
Almond Oil (eye measure, equal parts)
Castor Oil (eye measure, equal parts)
10 drops of Peppermint Oil
10 drops of Rosemary Oil
10 drops of Ginger Oil
Cling film/ Shower Cap
Comb through your hair and make sure you have got rid of all those nasty knots. The smoother your hair, easier the application. I highly suggest, sectioning your hair into how may ever parts you feel comfortable working with. This will allow every string of hair to grab the oils and soak it all in.
Once you have done lathered your hair, depending on the length you could plait or do it up in a bun and secure it. Take some cling film and cover your scalp entirely and leave it on overnight or a couple of hours depending on how much reviving you need. The cling film will grab the heat coming from the scalp and act as a catalyst in the conditioning product. Our scalp also releases essential oils which are super lush for the hair.
Rinse your hair like you normally would. Just a little advice, when shampooing massage hair in circular and gentle motion. This not only feels good but also wont damage or break the hair.
Now all you gotta do is enjoy the deep treatment, maybe have a bubble bath while you are at it or have some girlfriends around or a glass of vino and a movie!
Hope this was useful!
What treatments do you swear by?
Until the next post, I leave you with good vibes!
Happy Thanks Giving
